What
The HuroCup is an annual humanoid robot competition where robots compete in a variety of olympic-style events like weightlifting, archery, and more.
Welcome to the Western Engineering Robotics Club, where we are building TITAN, an autonomous humanoid robot platform, for competition at the FIRA HuroCup.
About the club
WE Bots is the Western Engineering Robotics Club. We give students an accessible place to learn, build, test, and lead robotics projects, regardless of their previous experience.
Our main project is TITAN, a 6-foot tall autonomous humanoid robot, the first of its kind built by an undergraduate engineering student club in Canada!
Our goal
At WE Bots, we are developing TITAN to complete at the FIRA Hurocup. Our goal is to build the skills, documentation, hardware, and controls needed to work toward competing regularly in the future.
The HuroCup is an annual humanoid robot competition where robots compete in a variety of olympic-style events like weightlifting, archery, and more.
The current timeline projects TITAN to be ready for competition at the 2028 FIRA Canadian Open.
With your help of course! We look forward to seeing passionate individuals join the effort to make the project truly something special.
How we work
Previously WE Bots structured itself into mechanical, electrical, and software subteams. We are currently moving away from this, offering a more flexible project-based structure. Members can contribute wherever they are interested and wherever the robot needs work.
CAD, 3D printing, machining, prototyping, mechanisms, frames, joints, and robot assembly.
Battery systems, wiring, voltage regulation, motor control, sensors, embedded devices, and safe integration.
Robot control, simulations, communications, software tools, perception, testing scripts, and autonomous behavior.
Documentation, recruitment, sponsorship, website updates, events, onboarding, and keeping the club organized.

Recognition
Each year, WE Bots recognizes the active members who contributed to the club, the robot, and the community around the project.
View active member rosters, as well as alumni recognition from past years, in the Hall Of Fame.
